           Code of Ethics

(1) Always have a current small game licence and carry it with you when in the field. Know the laws of the location where you hunt and obey them at all times.

(2) Safety first is your golden rule, this applies to the human as well as canine hunters. Never hunt alone, always let someone know where you will be hunting at all times.

(3) Never enter onto any land on which you do not have permission to hunt.

(4) Permission to hunt on any land should be obtained in writing from the land owner or his agent and carried at all times when performing pest control. Remember, the expression 'Common Land' does not mean anyone has the right to hunt on such land. Hunting in County, State or National parks is strictly forbidden.

(5) Before venturing on pest control it is advisable to notify the land owner of your proposed location and times.

(6) Never be discourteous to anyone who approaches you while out with your dogs. When on pest control, always be prepared to show your written permission and your hunting liscence if requested to do so.

(7) Show respect to the land on which you hunt, taking care to avoid doing damage to fences, hedges, stone walls, crop land etc, and always close gates through which you pass. Be aware of your boundaries.

(8) Know the dog's capabilities in the hunting field. Care should be taken to minimize risk of injury to dogs or quarry. Never work your dog if you suspect it to be injured or unfit.Never use a dog to control quarry if you know it is beyond its capability. When dispatching quarry always do so in the most humanely.

(9) EARTHWORKERS UNLIMITED, Inc., will not tolerate/condone trespass or poaching. EWU will exclude any member who is found to have trespassed, poached, used callous cruelty to animals or acted in any disorderly or unsportsmanlike manner in the field or at any sanctioned EWU event.
